Hereafter

Synopsis: Can there truly be love after death? Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she's dead. With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive. Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter is a sensation you won't want to miss.

Okay, the synopsis is not written by me.I copied it somewhere from the internet.

I finished the book last week and actually satisfied because I really finished it! I bought it last month and read it the next month and finished reading it in 6 hours (not 6 hours straight my friend,of course there are some break, eating break, toilet break,etc...).

Here's my review on the book:

Author Tara Hudson did a great job in potraying Amelia and Joshua. Amelia, as a ghost, doesn't remember much about her human life. Before meeting Joshua, she didn't even explore the living world much although she can wander around everywhere she wanted. Except the fact that she couldn't touch things like human did. But her lonely life (as a ghost) changed when she rescued Joshua from drowning. At that time, miracles happened and she can touch him. Joshua, after that, searched for her and they eventually become friends. Now here the plot thickens. Apparently, I think Joshua was quite the 'don't care type' of a guy. He didn't even freak out when Amelia told him that she was a ghost. What I like is that Joshua really care about Amelia, he even suggested her to look for her family. As their love developed, they discovered many new things such as Joshua is actually from a family that have a history of being a spirit hunter. And Joshua grandmother asked him to get rid of her, and warned Amelia to stay away from Joshua. Anyway, it’s nice to see Amelia come into her strengths as she discovers exactly what she is and isn’t capable of as a ghost. And while Amelia and Joshua’s romance seems doomed to fail, they never seem to give up hope.

Overall I give this story 8/10.

Because the plot is unlike any other ghost story and seems more original, and because the chemistry between Amelia and Joshua is depicted in a great way.

I'm currently waiting for the second book. Hurry up Mrs. Hudson!

Have a blessed day~
